Happy Halloween...

I sat, I drew, I carved, I lit and the whole time I felt as though 'Bumpling' was there sitting, drawing, carving and lighting with me. Does that make sense? I didn't spend time on my pumpkin this year to please Karl when he got home or to intrigue the fellow children in the street or to even celebrate and partake in festivities. I did because I felt that as a mother I should. I felt it was something that I should do with my child, for me child. I completely understand if one doesn't understand, the concept of what I have just said is a little ridiculous but, the truth all the same. So, from 'Bumpling' and I ...

Growing Ever More Curious ...

"What's in there then Mom? Anything I should know about?" Said Blue to his mother

"Only your little brother or sister Blue Boy. So, how's about you don't eat them." Replied Blues mother.

"Deal!" Cried Blue.

"Goodbye, Your'e Having a Baby!"

Officially Jessica Veltman, the Theatre/Marketing assistant of the ARENA Theatre is now on maternity leave. "Boom!" - Just like that. It indeed happened so quickly. It went from counting down 50 days, 40 days, 30 days to NO days. Pretty crazy if you ask me, how quickly time flies by yet seems to stay fixed so long. It makes me wonder how long it will feel before 'Bumpling' arrives yet how quickly it will actually fly by and then obviously you start wishing for time to slow so that they have no teeth again, have fuzzy hair, nuzzle in your neck to get to sleep, no boyfriends or girlfriends, no real sadness and no worries. Time is a strange thing, always has been and I'm sure always will be. However, time is exactly what I have on my hands right now. Lots of it infact and 'Yes!" I won't lie, I do have a list and I'm pretty proud of my 'Jessica Veltman's Maternity Leave Jobs' list, really I am. It is pretty extensive with no less that 28 jobs (so far) on it. Clean out the chickens, clean the blinds, clean ALL lampshades, use my pedicure voucher (Not really a job I know) etc: But, most of all, my priority for good time spent will be with my two pooches Dotty and Blue.

So, let maternity leave commence and let boredom be banished because I own two fantastic pups!

Little sister and her big brother.

Blue Boy enjoying a maternity leave wander through the park.

You may gather that walking 2 dogs at the same time is a little too much pull for my pregnant self.  So, this is a Blue Boy Wander photo shoot.

He was very muddy after this wander together.

If only my husband could have as much time off as I ...

Wonderful Gifts

It's always superb having wonderful friends with great great talents or at least wonderful friends with parents that hold 'great talents' - Mrs Povey ;-)

Check these lovely 'Bumpling' gifts out!

Hand-knitted cardigan for the Winter.

Bumplings hand-knitted Christmas pudding hat and Mommies wooley hat.

I would love to be able to tell you all that this extremely talented lady has her own business for you to all shop at. But, she doesn't. These tremendous gifts are completely bespoke and unique to Bumpling Veltman! :-0 Both Karl and I feel very honoured to dress the 'Bumpling' in such lovely winter garments (Photos to follow soon).

The Unicorn Headis complete ....

After a weekend of sticky fingers and papier-mache hair, I have finally completed our 'Bumpling's' protector. Now, I say protector because my animal head ended up being a unicorn as apposed to a stag and apparently that specific magical creature is a creature of protection.

So finally here it is! :-)

The unicorn head in all it's glory.

On the Bumplings wall in all it's glory.

There is no denying the fact that this wall decoration does look hand-made and to be honest - I am not ashamed of that. I sort of like the fact that they will have something a little Mommy-fied in their room. I like that I have invested some time in the personality of their room. I guess you either like it or you don't.
If like me you like and you want to know more about how to make it, please feel free to ask and I will pass on a little tutorial! ;-)
